Classroom Procedures

Writing and Solving Equations

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Students will learn basic classroom procedures such as how we enter class and what we do when we get to class, the attention signal, procedures for using the restroom, etc.

Students will be able to determine the slope of a line from and equation and also to graph a line from an equation.  Students will also review solving systems of equations using substitution.

Classroom Activities

Monday (2nd period) / Tuesday (5th & 8th Periods):

  • Students will complete a “meet the student brochure”
  • We will go over class rules
  • We will talk about the importance of education and students will brainstorm what it means to “do your best everyday”

Wednesday:

  • Students will work with a partner to complete the Mini Murder Mystery activity on slope and slope-intercept equation

Thursday (2nd period)/Friday (5th/8th periods)

  • Students will take the SMT
  • Students will then finish the Mini Murder Mystery activity and we will go over it

 

 

Assignments Due

SMT (diagnostic) needs to be taken as soon as possible
