Getting to know students

Learning Classroom Procedures and Expectations

MAFS.912.G-CO.1.1:  Know precise definitions of angle, circle, perpendicular line, parallel line, and line segment, based on the undefined notions of point, line, distance along a line, and distance around a circular arc.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Students will learn basic classroom procedures such as how we enter class and what we do when we get to class, the attention signal, procedures for using the restroom, etc.

Students will begin to learn the precise definitions of basic geometry terms.

Classroom Activities


  • Students will complete an “All About Me” pennant
  • We will go over class rules and talk about their ISN
  • We will talk about the importance of education and what it takes to get through the Goemetry curriculum map
  • We will play some team-building games such as “Team Architect”


  • Students will create a set of flashcards from Quizlet on 30 geometry vocabulary terms


Students will take the SMT

  • Students will finish their flashcards from Quizlet
  • Students will do a scavenger hunt (Geometry with Algebra–Finding the Values of Angles)
  • If they finish, they will go onto Quizlet to practice learning the vocabulary



Assignments Due

Scavenger Hunt assignment is due at the end of class on Thursday/Friday.
