Standard(s) Taught |

MAFS.912.G-CO.3.9: Prove theorems about lines and angles; use theorems about lines and angles to solve problems. (Theorems include: vertical angles are congruent; when a transversal crosses parallel lines, alternate interior angles are congruent and corresponding angles are congruent; points on a perpendicular bisector of a line segment are exactly those equidistant from the segment’s endpoints.)
|
Learning Targets and Learning Criteria |
---|
- Students will review finding angle measures
- Students will understand the angle relationships created when two parallel lines are cut by a transversal
- Students will be able to use their knowledge of all angle pair relationships to find angle measures and solve for x when looking at diagrams that include parallel lines and transversals
|
Classroom Activities |
---|
Tuesday:
- Students will do a Mathspace assignment (Angles and Angle Measures Review)
- Students will do two workbook pages (alternate assignment because internet was acting up)
- If time, we will do some more of the problems from Angle Relationships Bingo
Wednesday:
- Students will create two foldables for their ISN (pages 7 and 8) on Parallel Lines Cut by a Transversal
Thursday/Friday:
- Students will work on a Parallel Lines Cut by a Transversal Puzzle Activity (with a partner they will solve twelve problems–finding the value of x and the measure of angle y; when they finish all twelve, they will cut the twelve boxes apart and arrange them so that all answers correctly line up)

Assignments Due |
---|
- Mathspace on Angles and Angle Measures (5th and 8th period only) due September 4
- Parallel Lines Cut by Transversal Puzzle Activity due September 12/13
