MAFS.912.G-CO.3.9:  Prove theorems about lines and angles; use theorems about lines and angles to solve problems. (Theorems include: vertical angles are congruent; when a transversal crosses parallel lines, alternate interior angles are congruent and corresponding angles are congruent; points on a perpendicular bisector of a line segment are exactly those equidistant from the segment’s endpoints.)

MAFS.912.G-CO.4.12:  Make formal geometric constructions with a variety of tools and methods.  This includes copying a segment, copying an angle, bisecting an angle, bisecting a segment, constructing perpendicular lines, and constructing  a line parallel to a given line through a point on the line or not on the line.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria
• Students will be able to identify angle relationships given parallel lines cut by a transversal
• Students will understand the relationship between various angles (e.g. congruent or supplementary)
• Students will be able to use a protractor to measure acute and obtuse angles
• Students will understand conditional statements and biconditional statements
Classroom Activities

Monday/Tuesday:

• Students will finish the Parallel Lines Cut By a Transversal Puzzle Activity
• Students will view Math Nation video section 3, part 2 (Angles Part 2:  Measuring Angles)
• Students will practice measuring angles
• Students will create ISN page 9:  Logic Statements and we will go over conditional and biconditional statements

Wednesday:

• Students will begin filling in the Constructions Packet with the steps for constructions
• We will go to the website:  www.mathopenreference.com to watch the sequence of steps

Thursday/Friday:

• Students will take the Summative on Angle Relationships
• When we finish, we will continue working on the Constructions Packet
