Week #February 17-21
Unit of InstructionFocus 9: Application of Functions
Standard(s) Taught

MAFS.8.F.2.4: Construct a function to model a linear relationship between two quantities. Determine the rate of change and initial value of the function from a description of a relationship or from two (x, y) values, including reading these from a table or from a graph. Interpret the rate of change and initial value of a linear function in terms of the situation it models, and in terms of its graph or a table of values.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria
  • calculate the slope/rate of change from a table, graph, equation, or two points.
  • write a linear function rule for a given relationship.
  • describe the slope and y-intercept in terms of the situation.
Classroom Activities

Tuesday:

  • Students will work on iReady and finishing up IXL’s.

Wednesday:

  • We will learn how to write a Function Rule from a table.
  • We will do some practice examples.

Thursday/Friday:

  • Students will do IXL Y.7 and finish Y.6
  • We will work through a test review on Slope-Intercept form.
Assignments Due
  • IXL’s Y.6 and Y.7 are due February 20/21.
