# Q4, W1: Intensive Math (March 25-29)

Teacher Kristin Andreason 8th Grade Intensive Math 8 March 25-29 Unit 9: Introduction to Functions
Standard(s) Taught

MAFS.8.F.1.2: Compare properties of two functions each represented in a different way (algebraically, graphically, numerically in tables, or by verbal descriptions).

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria
• identify the properties of a function written in algebraic form (e.g., rate of change, meaning of y-intercept and x-intercept, linear, non-linear).
• compare the properties of two functions that are represented differently (e.g., as an equation, in a table, graphically, or a verbal representation).
Classroom Activities

Monday/Tuesday:

• We will learn how to compare two functions based on their rate of change.
• Students will do a worksheet on comparing two functions according to their rate of change.

Wednesday:

• We will review slope and do some Kahoots on slope.

Thursday/Friday:

• Students will do iReady and then finish the IXL’s 7th grade V.1 and V.2.

Assignments Due
• Comparing Two Functions worksheet due on March 25/26.
