Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Student Goals: 

Students will compare and contrast the colonial settlement motivations among the New England, Middle, and Southern colonies. Examples: colonial governments, geographic influences, occupations, religion, education, settlement patterns, and social patterns.

Specifically discussing the Puritans & Salem Witch Trials and how a colony was wrongfully accusing women of witch craft. -False Accusations- Puritan Beliefs- 

Classroom Activities

Students will study the Salem Witch Trials this week! 

Students will cover a Power Point discussing the Puritan belief system and social order of the town of Salem. 

Students will study case trials and watch videos on the trials. 

Friday we will re-create a Salem Witch Trial. 

Assignments Due

Monday: Case study questions. 

Friday: Post trail reflection Questions
