Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Student Goals:

  • Describe examples of precedents established by Washington that continue today.
  • Examine the influence of Washington’s Farewell Address on U.S. foreign policy.
  • Some examples we will cover are: personal motivations, military experience, political influence, establishing Washington, D.C., as the nation’s capital, rise of the party system, setting of precedents
Classroom Activities

Students will watch videos and take notes on George Washington’s precedents. 

Students will examine his farewell address, break down the address and discuss how it also is still relevant and used today.

Washington’s Packet.

ALL IEP and ESOL accommodations will be provided daily.
