 create right triangles to drawing a horizontal line segment and a vertical line segment from any two points on a nonvertical line in the coordinate plane.
 justify that an equation in the form of y = mx will represent the graph of a proportional relationship with a slope of m and yintercept of 0.
 justify that an equation in the form of y = mx + b will represent the graph of a linear relationship with a slope of m and a yintercept of b.
 explain slope as a constant rate of change. (change in y over change in x as a fraction)
 identify a linear function as y = mx + b.
 identify linear functions as having graphs that are straight lines.
 identify functions that are not linear from equations, tables, and graphs.
