Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Students will be able to:

  • Identify at least 3 impacts of geography on the Southern Colonies
  • Make at least 1 meaningful contribution to a class discussion on slavery
Classroom Activities

Monday/Tuesday: Students will learn about the geography of the south and its impacts using a graphic organizer. They will then have a class discussion on slavery. 

Advanced: This discussion will take the form of a Socratic Seminar, using primary documents as a basis for discussion. 


Regular: Classes will play a review game on the 13 Colonies. 

Advanced:Finish the Socratic Seminar

Thursday/Friday: 13 Colonies Test
