Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Students will learn how to throw accurately to a partner.

Students will know how to catch when thrown to by a partner. 

Classroom Activities

Q3 warm-up exercises in our teams. (Bear Crawl, Crab Walk, Frog Jump and Skip)

Day 1 and 2: Practice throwing and catching in groups.

Day 3 and 4: Introduce Speedball and play a round robin team tournament.

Day 5 and 6: Play a whole class game of Speedball. 

Discussion Questions: In what ways can you throw a ball? What are the rules to Speedball?

Assignments Due

Don’t forget to bring water bottles and wear sneakers. 

Take 5 minutes to practice our exercises when you are at home.

Assessment: Perform the Q3 Exercises. Show me that you can throw a ball to a partner and catch a ball from a partner. With your team, give me 3 rules of Speedball.
