Understand the importance of purposeful movement in a variety of movement settings.  Discuss the influence of individual differences on participation in physical activities.  List ways to encourage others while refraining from insulting/negative statements.  Demonstrate respect and caring for students with disabilities through verbal and non-verbal encouragement and assistance. Discuss how physical activity can be a positive opportunity for social and group interaction.  Discuss ways to celebrate one’s own physical accomplishments while displaying sportsmanship.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Students will be placed in small groups and with their teammates they will formulate a strategy to build hula huts using 6 Hula Hoops.  Teams must follow directions and work together as they compete against other teams.  Teamwork and following directions will be emphasized.
