Students will perform on instruments with proper playing technique.

Students will be able to identify the instruments of the String family, Brass family, Woodwind family, and Percussion family. 

Students will be able to distinguish between male, female, and child voices/timbres. 

Students will continue to learn their winter performance pieces and perform them memorized. 

Students will sing and dance to an American folk dance and show steady beat and rhythm. 

Students will perform body percussion to an African American hand game/song and compose their own body percussion movements.

Down, Down, Baby

  • Body percussion
  • Sing through song, discuss body percussion
  • Split into groups to come up with their own body percussion composition to perform for the class
