|Learning Targets and Learning Criteria|
Students will learn the accompaniment/bordun to the African Lullaby Abiyoyo on the xylophone, drums, and shakers.
Students will read in 3/4 time and be able to identify the time signature of a piece.
Students will sing and play instruments at the same time.
Students will read notes on the Treble clef.
Students will demonstrate proper recorder playing technique.
Student will sing then play on instruments pieces of music.
Students will compose their own recorder piece using the notes they have learned.
Students will compose their own rhythm to play percussion instruments.
Students will learn the xylophone part to the African Folk Song Abiyoyo. We will review the story and the song then transfer to xylophones. Students will play with proper technique and learn about accompaniment.
Students will learn the song Twinkle Twinkle on the xylophones.
Recorder Playing Test will be the week after Recorder Centers – this is for a grade! Please practice!
