Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Students will sing using their singing voices. 

Students will be able to identify all the instrument families by listening to different instruments tone color and pitches. (String, Woodwind, Brass, Percussion) 

Students will be able to identify an instrument by using listening skills and by labeling a picture of the instrument. 

Student will continue to learn and memorize their spring performance pieces. 

Student will learn about the different decades that each of the songs in their performance is from. 

Students will learn a folk song from the United States and learn the dance to it. 

Students will be able to find and maintain a steady beat.

Vocal Warm-up : Hello There

Beat Buddy Exercise : find and maintain a steady beat

Spring Performance Pieces:

Students will continue to memorize the pieces and add movements and expression.

Instrument Bingo

  • Students will get a bingo card with different instruments on it
  • Teacher will play a recording of an instrument
  • Students will find the instrument on their card

  • Students will first learn the words and find the beat
