|Learning Targets and Learning Criteria|
•Today I will learn about SHAPE, so that I CAN create a peacock by cutting small, medium, and large shapes from marbled watercolor paper for the parts of my peacock.
•Today I will learn about COLLAGE, so that that I CAN safely cut and glue all my shapes together onto a background with added details like to complete my composition. I’ll know I have it when all of my pieces are securely attached to the background.
•Today I will learn about COLOR and TEXTURE, so that I CAN create MARBLED PAPER using WATERCOLOR paint and shaving cream, to create swirls to look like a peacocks feathers.
Students will begin to work on their Square1 project and we will discuss objects of art that are used for every day purposes, how artists impact the way items for sale look, and how art is used to share information about the community. Students will then watch a Powerpoint presentation, along with videos, to learn about some Peacock characteristics. They will then mix watercolor paint with shaving cream to create a marbled effect to their papers. Students will then draw and cut out different parts of the paper to create a Peacock collage. They will also add marker and oil pastel details. Students will then upload their artwork to Artsonia and create a title.
