Learning Targets and Learning Criteria
  • Today I will learn about value  and texture so that I can use different pressure on my colored pencil, as well as use a variety of colors, to make my hair look appear as implied texture.
  • Today I will learn about analogous colors so that I can blend my choice of two analogous colors to my background.
  • Today I will learn about contrast and create contrast by outlining certain areas in black and using colors that make my artwork standout.
Classroom Activities

Students will practice using different colors and pressure to create hair texture that looks realistic. They will also use different value for their clothing and hearts.  They will outline areas in black to create contrast and have hearts to appear as if they are being blown using enumeration. Finally, they will use analogous watercolor paint to create their background.  We will discuss objects from everyday life that have been designed and created using artistic skills and how the use of art can tell about events within the school or community.  Upon completion, students will upload their work to Artsonia and add a statement. This is for their Square1 are project.
