• Today I will learn about FORM, so that I CAN create a three-dimensional sea turtle from
• Today I will learn about coils, slabs, and spheres; so that I CAN make my turtles’ body parts.
• Today I will learn about TEXTURE, so that I CAN add a shell that appears rough or bumpy

Classroom Activities

Students will create their turtles shell with neon air-dry clay and add texture by stepping on it with their shoe. Next students will create coils to make the fins and tail. Last students will create spheres for the eyes and flatten out the fins and add a mouth by scratching in the surface with a stick.  Students will describe the steps and media used to create their turtle. Artwork will be uploaded to Artsonia.
