|Learning Targets and Learning Criteria|
• Today I will learn about TEXTURE and PATTERN, so that I CAN use repeating lines to create the appearance of bumpy feathers on the owls chest.
• Today I will learn about LINE and SHAPE, so that I CAN use curved lines and different shapes to create an owl drawing with black oil pastel. I’ll know I have it when my owl is large enough to fit all my details (feathers). I will also OUTLINE my owl and important details to make sure they stand out from the rest of the paint, achieving CONTRAST
This is Kindergarten’s Square1 art project. We will explore everyday objects that have been designed and created by artists and discuss where art ideas or products can be found in stores. Students will learn how to give the appearance of texture in their artwork and learn about patterns. We will draw the owl together using either oil pastel or black crayon and fill in the owl and background with chalk pastels. We will discuss and learn how to blend pastels together on the owl. Students will darken their lines if needed in order to achieve contrast of the owl from its background. Last, students artwork will be uploaded on Artsonia.
