Learning Targets and Learning Criteria
  • Today I will learn about SPACE, so that I can create a FOREGROUND, MIDDLE GROUND, and BACKGROUND in my artwork and OVERLAP objects in my design. 
  • Today I will learn about COLOR and VALUE, so that I can create a BACKGROUND either with different VALUES or ANALOGOUS COLORS. 
  • Today I will learn about TINTS and SHADES, so that I can create a more realistic ocean and beach. 
  • Today I will learn about SYMMETRY, so that I can create a SYMMETRIC car. 
Classroom Activities

Students will draw a symmetric car and add items in and around the car of their choosing relating to a trip to the beach. They will use tempera cakes for the painting.  Upon completion,  students will upload their artwork to Artsonia, along with an artist statement.
