Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

• Today I will learn about PAPER WEAVING, so that I CAN follow the basic over-under weaving PATTERN to create a woven fish.
• Today I will learn about COLOR, so that I CAN use a warm colored background with cool colored strips (or vice versa) to create a strong CONTRAST.
• Today I will learn about COLLAGE, so that I CAN safely cut and glue fins, a tail, eyes, and teeth or lips to my woven fish composition.

Classroom Activities
  • Students will create their unique painted paper using Neon Tempera paint.
  • They will then draw and cut out the fish body shape and lines for the warp. 
  • Next, student will weave in strips of paper to their fish’s body. 
  • Last, Students will add a tail, eyes and other details.
  • Students will upload their artwork to Artsonia and discuss the steps they used to create this using art vocabulary.
