Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

• Today I will learn about FORM and TEXTURE, so that I CAN use MODELING CLAY to create a 3-dimensional coral reef
• Today I will learn about SPACE, so that I CAN OVERLAP my coral to give the illusion of DEPTH and space.
• Today I will learn about COLOR, so that I CAN use Neon CLAY and be able to mix ANALOGOUS colors that will still glow under the blacklight.

Classroom Activities

Students will watch a video learning about the coral reef. They will create different sea creatures and coral of their choice to make a 3-D relief sculpture with Neon clay and other neon media.  They will collaborate with their peers and attach several of their pieces to a paper background to appear to be the bottom of the ocean.
