SC.3.L.14.2 – Investigate and describe how plants respond to stimuli (heat, light, gravity), such as the way plant stems grow toward light and their roots grow downward in response to gravity.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Students will learn about weighing and measuring pumpkins, determining circumference and diameter.  

Classroom Activities

Students will learn the difference between carving pumpkins and pie pumpkins.  The will also learn about pumpkin growing season, the importance of the pumpkin’s canopy of leaves.  They will work as a group to describe in detail, using a magnifying box, details about the seeds and the inside of the pumpkins.
