Students will:

*Learn the difference between conifers and deciduous trees.

*Learn how long it takes for conifers to grow.

*Learn what agricultural commodities are.

*Learn about poinsettias.

Classroom Activities

We will have a class discussion about how conifers are an agricultural commodity, where the largest conifer farm in the United States is, and how long they take to grow (depending on their size).   Students will have an opportunity to classify different trees as conifer or deciduous and we will talk about poinsettias, where they originated from, and that the colored part is actually a leaf not a flower.
