Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

·         Students will provide an answer to a question or solution to a problem that draws on information from multiple print or digital sources.

·         Students will provide a statement that integrates information from several texts on the same topic.

Classroom Activities


·         Small group learning centers – students will work in small groups to further enhance concepts introduced in whole group instruction. Center rotations include reading, writing, computer work (ThinkCERCA & ixl), vocabulary, ipads (ixl), and teacher conferencing/small groups instruction for further individualized work (writing conferencing, main idea practice).

·         Rti – Daily – istation and individual and small group support and reteaching

·         Willy Maykit in Space – reading and questions

·         Daily writing prompts

·         Reading – Social Studies Alive!, The Events Leading to Independence, & The Declaration of Independence and Its Legacy to answer the essential question “What were some significant events and individuals that led up to the American revolution and how did they impact the creation of the Declaration of Independence?”

·         Spelling Test – 1/12
