Identify and explain significant events leading up to the American Revolution
Identify significant individuals and groups who played a role in the American Revolution.
Examine and compare major battles and military campaigns of the American Revolution.

Mini lesson on Analyzing multiple texts on the same topic
American Revolution -Lesson 3 and 4 – Taxation of the Colonies
King’s M&M’s Simulation – Students will participate in simulation to deepen understanding of patriots feelings that lead to the beginning of the Revolution then use that knowledge to write a short response taking on the role of a British colonist to tell whether they support the movement for a separation from Britain or to remain loyal to the King.
Racing in the Rain or Hatchet book study 
Writing – Students will write a 3 paragraph response to an opinion prompt
