Classroom Activities

Morning Work: Each morning, as the students enter the classroom, they will find a writing prompt/question on the board.  They will then respond to that prompt/question; their response should be about one paragraph in length.

-Throughout the week, students will be participating in team-building activities that will provide them an opportunity to acquaint themselves with their classmates:

-Back to School M&Ms and 7Up Activity

-Interview a  New Classmate

-My Favorites-game

-Time will also be spent on teaching the class about the classroom rules and procedures.

-Additionally, students will complete the following activities:

-Independent Reading

-Spelling Choice Board activities

-Fluency Assessments

 

Assignments Due

Homework: Students should read 15-20 minutes each night, Monday through Thursday, and then complete the provided reading log.

We will have a spelling test on Friday, August 16th.  The students will study each day, in class, by completing various choice board activities.
