Whole Group Activities:
-Reading “The Raft”.
-Discussion of text-based questions about “The Raft”.
-Students will provide written responses discussing how they think a character from the text will be respond to an event.
-Analyzing characters with the use of information and details from the text.
-Writing a strong introduction
-Planning and writing an opinion essay on various topics
Small Group Activities:
-Spelling Choice Board Activities
-Ready Reading activities (review of text structures)
-I-ready computer program (tailored to each student’s individual needs)
-Read and Respond
Homework: Monday-Thursday, Ready for 15-20 minutes daily and fill in one section of their reading log.
Spelling Test on Friday, October 4th.
VLT-The Volusia Literacy Test will be taken on October 1st. This is a summative assessment. It will test the student on various concepts we have learned this nine weeks.
