LAFS.4.W.2.5: With guidance and support from peers and adults, develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, and editing.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

For writing we will be focusing on the following this week:

  • use organizational/formatting structures (graphic organizers) to develop their writing ideas.
  • compose a clear and logical piece of writing that demonstrates their understanding of a specific writing style.
  • recognize that a well-developed piece of writing requires more than one draft.
  • edit their writing by checking for errors in capitalization, punctuation, grammar, spelling, etc.
  • prepare multiple drafts using revisions and edits to develop and strengthen their writing.
Classroom Activities

Monday: FSA Review

-The students will be writing detectives.  Clues will be given to guide them to certain locations around the school.  At those secret locations, the students will be given a writing task that will help them to prepare for FSA.

 

Tuesday: FSA Writing Test

 

Wednesday-Friday:

-I-Ready Reading 

-Read and Respond (This will be done in class.  The students do not have homework this week.)

-Free Writes/Quick Writes: The students will be able to write creatively about various topics.

-The students will learn/review how to write in cursive.

*No spelling quiz this week.

*FSA Writing Test is on April 2, 2019.
