|Learning Targets and Learning Criteria|
-Read poetry orally with accuracy, proper rate, and expression.
-Show understanding of the elements of poetry (setting, mood, theme, figurative language, imagery, repetition) when writing or speaking about a poem.
-Participate successfully in peer editing of compositions.
-Read grade level text fluently and show comprehension through voice, timing, and expression.
-Students will be practicing their poetry for Poetry Cafe.
-Peer editing groups w/rubrics
-Students will be finishing up any late assignments they need to turn in before report card grades are due.
-Holiday fun activities
-Poem for Poetry Cafe (students were given rubric to prepare with)
-Revised copy of composition (after edit session)

Parents: We invite you to attend our Fourth Grade Poetry Cafe on Wednesday, December 20th. Miss Manning’s homeroom will be performing around 8:15 am in the theater and Mr. Lee’s homeroom will be performing at around 11:15 am. After each session, we will be serving refreshments and snacks upstairs by our classrooms.
Miss Manning’s Winter Dance/Musical Showcase is Monday, December 18th at 6:45pm. Hope to see you there!
