Classroom Activities

We will be working on “Diversity in Dance” project for the first five weeks back to school. This project will lead up to Ivy Hawn’s big Diversity show that we do every year. This year I have changed the project to look into where the students of Ivy Hawn come from and explore their different backgrounds through dance. We will learn some history, do research on the iPads, and create group projects that will involve choreographing their own dance pieces from a specific culture. Dancers will present their dances and research and will have the opportunity to be chosen to be a part of Ivy Hawn’s Diversity performance, which will be February 21st.

Assignments Due

This project will be given to students January 12th for 1st and 4th period, and January 16th for 5th and 6th period. All dates for assignments related to the project will be in the handout and most of it is done in class.
