Big Idea: Historical and Global Connections: Enduring Understanding 2: The arts reflect and document cultural trends and historical events, and help explain how new directions in the arts have emerged. TH.68.H.2.8: Identify and describe theatrical resources in the community, including professional and community theaters, experts, and sources of scripts and materials.

Students will identify and understand various technical theater occupations.

Students will recognize how technical theater impacts a performance. 

Students will identify the different types of theaters in the area.

Classroom Activities

Activities; Identify technical theater jobs, discussion of careers in the theater, Mock Auditions experiencing Director, Playwright and Stage Manager jobs; View direction, stage manager and playwright video with exit slip; Work on Melodrama Play–to create all tech theater aspects.
