Big Idea: Historical and Global Connections: Enduring Understanding 1: Through study in the arts, we learn about and honor others and the worlds in which they live(d). TH.68.H.1.3: Identify significant contributions of playwrights, actors, and designers and describe their dramatic heritage. Enduring Understanding 2: The Arts reflect and document cultural trends and historical events, and help explain how new directions in the arts have emerged. TH.68.H.2.3: Analyze theater history and dramatic literature in the context of societal and cultural history. TH.68.H.2.7: Define theater genres from different periods in history, giving examples of each.

Classroom Activities

Tuesday: Warm-up circle: Follow Me–warm-up and Tongue twisters.   Rules of Improvisation–Review and Assessment Improvisation activity. 

Wednesday: Warm-up game: Zoom with categories     All Classes will have in class time to work on their Theater History group project.     

Thursday/Friday: Early American Theater Video; Melodrama example. Melodrama exit ticket.
