TH.68.S.2.4 Memorize and present a characters lines from a monologue or scene.

Enduring Understanding 3: Through purposeful practice, artists learn to manage, master, and refine simple, then complex, skills and techniques.

TH.68.S.3.1 Develop characterizations, using basic acting skills, appropriate for selected dramatizations.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Students will practice Projection and Breathing for projection exercises.

Students will prepare a monologue.

 

Classroom Activities

Students will choose a monologue; work with a partner or small group on rehearsing the monologue; rehearse the monologue in front of class; work on memorization of the monologue and present the monologue for a grade on Oct 3rd or 4th. 

Students will learn the proper technique for using diaphragm breathing. Students will practice exercises to extend their breath control. 

Students will continue work on skill games and exercises for warm up or cool down.
