Review Fractions

MAFS.7.NS.1.1:  Apply and extend previous understandings of addition and subtraction to add and subtract rational numbers; represent addition and subtraction on a horizontal or vertical number line diagram.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria
  • Students will continue to review fractions and what they represent so that they can write a fraction as a ratio of a part to a whole
  • Students will be able to successfully add positive and negative integers
  • Students will be able to write an equation from a word problem and solve by adding integers
Classroom Activities

Monday:

  • Review classroom procedures and attention signal
  • Bell Ringer:  six problems adding integers
  • Quizizz activity on Adding Integers
  • watch Weird Number video to understand the relationship between whole numbers and fractions

Wednesday:

  • Bell Ringer:  Word problem using adding integers
  • Adding Integers Maze Activity
  • Dot game for those who finish

Thursday:

  • Review fractions and do Fractions Activity with M&M’s
  • Finish Adding Integers Maze (if not finished)
  • Word Problem task cards with a partner
  • Go over some of the word problems together
