# Q2, W6: November 26-30 Teacher Kristin Andreason 7th Grade Intensive Math 7 November 26-30 Unit 2: Solving Multi-step Equations
Standard(s) Taught

MAFS.7.EE.1.1:  Apply properties of operations as strategies to add, subtract, factor, and expand linear expressions with rational coefficients.

MAFS.7.EE.2.3:  Solve multi-step real-life and mathematical problems posed with positive and negative rational numbers in any form (whole numbers, fractions, and decimals), using tools strategically.  Apply properties of operations to calculate with numbers in any form; convert between forms as appropriate; and assess the reasonableness of answers using mental computation and estimation strategies.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria
• Students will be able to solve equations that involve more than one step.
• Students will be able to solve equations that include fractions.
• Students will understand that when there is a variable on both sides of the equation, they must subtract the variable from one side of the equation so that the variable is only on one side.
Classroom Activities

Monday and Wednesday:

• Students will solve multi-step equations on pennants and then color the pennants.

Thursday:

• Students will work on iReady for forty-five minutes and then finish their pennants or work on assignments for their core math class.
Assignments Due
• Pennants are due by Thursday, December 29.
