MAFS.7.EE.2.4:  Use variables to represent quantities in a real-world or mathematical problem, and construct simple equations and inequalities to solve problems by reasoning about the quantities.  Graph the solution set of the inequality and interpret it in the context of the problem.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria
  • Students will be able to solve two-step linear inequalities from real-world problems.
  • Students will be able to explain how the solution set relates to the problem.
  • Students will understand when it is necessary to change the inequality symbol.
  • Students will be able to graph the solution set of an inequality.
  • Students will be able to write an inequality from a given graph.
Classroom Activities

Monday:

  • Students will create a foldable on how to solve inequalities.
  • Students will then do a Scavenger Hunt activity where they will solve inequalities and then find the correct graph to go to their next question.

Wednesday:

  • Students will continue to work on their Scavenger Hunt.

Thursday:

  • Students will work on iReady and then finish Scavenger Hunt or other incomplete work for this class or their regular math class.
Assignments Due

Scavenger Hunt due on Thursday, December 6.
