MAFS.8.F.1.1Understand that a function is a rule that assigns to each input exactly one output.  The graph of a function is a set of ordered pairs consisting of an input and the corresponding output.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria
  • identify a function from a graph, equation or set of ordered pairs.
  • explain that a function represents a relationship between an input and an output where the output depends on the input; therefore, there can only be one output for each input.
Classroom Activities

Monday:

  • We will talk about functions and learn that a function will have only one output for each input
  • We will look at the coordinate plane and talk about graphing points and lines on the coordinate plane
  • Students will practice graphing points on the coordinate plane

Wednesday:

  • Students will use this class period to study for the Civics EOC

Thursday:

  • Students will have a light day today because they will have just taken their Civics EOC
  • Students will do some work on iReady
