Classroom Activities

-“Don’t Write About Your Writing” lesson and practice

-Argument Essay on pit bulls from the Performance Assessment Book

Rough draft will be due Tuesday!

-Peer/self grade rough draft argument essay on pit bulls using the FSA rubric

Students will pass their essay around with the FSA rubric to grade their own and each teammates essay.  Students will revise and make corrections to their rough draft before writing their final draft which will be a summative grade.

-Final draft of essay due Friday by the end of class

Type if computers are available and finish baseline testing on ThinkCERCA if needed.

-Figurative Language lesson

-Drop Everything and Read during Wednesday’s second class period of ELA

-Read A Voice/Words Like Freedom from FL Collections using figurative language worksheet

-A Voice/Words Like Freedom Comprehension Test on Friday

Assignments Due

Tuesday – final essay on pit bulls

Friday – comprehension test on A Voice/Words Like Freedom
