Students will:
• explain how energy provided by the sun influences global patterns, including:
o atmospheric movement (wind)
o temperature differences between air (atmosphere,) land (geosphere,)
and water (hydrosphere)
• create a model to investigate how the sun’s energy causes changes in
temperature of air, land, and water, such as:
o a diagram showing how different surfaces reflect or absorb heat (i.e.
snow vs. ocean)
o a 3D representation of uneven heating because of the Earth’s tilt (i.e.
using a globe)
