Students will:

• Trace or evaluate the argument or claims in a section of the text and/or throughout their research
• Distinguish arguments or claims that are supported with evidence from those that are not.

Classroom Activities

• Tech Tuesday: iReady, IXL, ThinkCERCA ***ALL students MUST have wired earbuds/headphones*** IXL lessons JJ.2 & KK.1
• Complete argumentative speech project: including research, note cards, essay writing
• Students will present their speech

• Argumentative speech research (formative) due 10/16
• Speech note cards due 10/16
• Speech written in essay format (summative) due 10/17
• All speeches completed by October 21 (formative)
• iReady weekly grade due by October 17
• IXL & ThinkCERCA due by October 20

Extension Activity

Create visual enhancements for their speech
