Learning Targets: 

  • fluently add and subtract multi-digit decimals using the standard algorithm. 
  • fluently multiply multi-digit decimals using the standard algorithm.
  • fluently divide multi-digit decimals using the standard algorithm. bring down the next digit in the algorithm, and understand that I am distributing, recording, and shifting to the next place value.
Classroom Activities

In class we will take our Decimal Operation Test this week. We will begin our Unit on Integers and Rational Numbers mid week by completing notebook activities. 

Assignments Due

Tuesday, October 10, we will be taking our Decimal Operation Test. Please see attached for the study guide. A physical copy was sent home on Friday, October 6.


We have two assignments due this week. Students will complete their last decimal operation MathSpace activity entitled “Decimal Division Homework (Due 10/10). This will be due Tuesday, October 10 before we take the test. 

Projects are due this Friday, October 13. Please make sure your student completes this project as this is a summative grade. 

Quarter ends October 16. Please make sure any remediation or outstanding assignments are turned in before then.

If additional help is needed, students are encouraged to view a lesson regarding a given topic on Khan Academy. This website is free and provides both video instruction as well as practice problems. www.khanacademy.org

Students are able to complete additional practice on both Mathspace and IXL
