LAFS.6.RL.1.2: Determine a central idea of a text and how it is conveyed through particular details; provide a summary of the text distinct from personal opinions or judgments.
LAFS.6.RL.2.5: Analyze how a particular sentence, paragraph, chapter, or section fits into the overall structure of a text and contributes to the development of the ideas.
LAFS.6.RL.2.6: Determine an author’s point of view or purpose in a text and explain how it is conveyed in the text.
|Learning Targets and Learning Criteria|
Our novel study is the book Iqbal by Francesco D’Amo. The students will be studying vocabulary, comprehension, and close-reading analysis while reading. We will also have a literary assessment and project, as a culminating activity, with this novel. Directions and rubrics for the project will be posted in the coming weeks.
The rubric and directions for the Book Project is attached.
The projects are due MONDAY 12/10 and we will begin presenting that day. If you are done early, you may bring in the project and present it early.
