SS.6.W.4.2- Explain the major beliefs and practices associated with Hinduism and the social structure of the caste system in ancient India.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Student Goals:

  • Students will compare the river civilizations along the Tigris & Euphrates, Nile and Bramaputra & Ganges Rivers. 
  • Students will explain the social structure and levels of the caste system and its relationship with Hinduism. Examples may include, but are not limited to, Brahman, reincarnation, dharma, karma, 
Classroom Activities

Classes 1-4 on Monday will complete pages 100-101 in their interactive notebooks on  the Physical Features of India. 

Classes 5-8 we will cover the Indian religion of Hinduism and the caste system. 

Assignments Due

Interactive Notebook Pages: 

100-101- Physical Features of India

World Religions: Hinduism- Caste System and core beliefs. (Will be placed in their spiral notebooks.)

Hindusim Quiz on Socrative, will be graded along with their notes for a total grade in gradebook. 

Additional Resources

ALL IEP and ESOL accommodations will be provided daily.

When a student is absent, it is their responsibility to check the absent files in class and copy notes from a peer.  Students will have the number of days absent to complete missing work.  If you need any assignments emailed, please contact me at smithk@ivyhawnschool.org.
