Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Student Goals: 

  • Students will identify how population, technology, government, religion, and culture can influence a civilization
  • Students will compare the ancient river civilizations.
  • Students will describe the four principles of the Mandate of Heaven.
  •  Students will apply their knowledge to discuss the Mandate of Heaven’s impact on the actions, responsibilities, and success of various dynasties’ rulers
Classroom Activities

Students will complete activities this week that support the state standards. 

Students will work in their interactive notebooks, groups and participate in classroom discussions. 

Students will participate in the showcase:  Mandate of Heaven Hot Seat: Students will act as if they are different dynasties and they need to make decisions on how to react to their cards of fate. Its a fun way to get them involved and thinking critically as a group.

ALL IEP and ESOL accommodations will be provided daily.
