Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Student Goals: 

  • Students will discuss both the positive and negative effects that Mongolian rule had on the peoples of Asia and Europe.
  • Discuss who Genghis / Kublai Khan were. 
  • Understand the significance of the Mongolian Contributions. 
Classroom Activities

Blended Learning Rotations- Genghis Khan & The Mongols

*Rotation 1: Quotes

 

Read the Genghis Khan quotes, choose 3 and then in your own words tell me what they mean. 

 

 

*Rotation 3: Small Group

 

At this station you will read an article called “Daily life of the Mongols”

 

Then you will answer the questions. You may work with your teacher and group members.

*Rotation 5: iPad

 

You will read an article on “10 things you may not know about Genghis Khan” Found on History.com

*Pick 5 things and explain them in your own words on a piece of notebook paper*

 

*Rotation 2: Magazine Cover

Click Biographies

World Leaders: Genghis Khan

Read the article, and create a Magazine cover with at least 4 facts and make it colorful.

Rotation 4: Free Space   

 

 

Rotation 6: iPad

 

You will need your headphones.  

 

Watch the video “Mongols are the Exception”

Write down as many cases that the Mongols were the exception, in your spiral notebook. (That means, every instance when something that applies to other civilizations DOES NOT apply to the Mongols!)

*If you cannot get these activities accomplished in class please use the internet at home to complete*

 

 

Assignments Due

Rotation Work: Stations #1,2, & 5 will be submitted for a formative grade. 

Additional Resources

ALL IEP and ESOL accommodations will be provided daily.
