SS.6.W.3.2- Explain the democratic concepts (polis, civic participation and voting rights, legislative bodies, written constitutions, rule of law) developed in ancient Greece.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Student Goals: 

  • Students will work on their vocabulary terms this week: peninsula, polis, bard, agora, colony, phalanx, citizen, acropolis. 
  • Students will also be introduced to the geographical barriers that lead to the different city-states to arise and essentially create their own unique empires. 
Classroom Activities
  • Students will create posters on their vocabulary words and present this information to their classmates. 
  • They will also have to create a post card on the geography of ancient Greece and write to someone about the difficulties of farming, trade etc.

  • Postcards

ALL IEP and ESOL accommodations will be provided daily.
