SS.6.W.3.18- Describe the rise and fall of the ancient east African kingdoms of Kush and Axum and Christianity’s development in Ethiopia.

Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

Student Goals:

Students will be able to explain a major accomplishment of the ancient Egyptians- A Shaduf. They will recognize the significance of the invention and how it helped the peasants in their daily lives. 

Students will discuss the rise and fall of Kush due to the conquest by Axum.
Students will identify King Ezana as declaring Christianity as the official religion of Axum.
Students will discuss the lasting impact of Christianity on Ethiopia throughout history

Classroom Activities

Students will create an Egyptian Shauduf this week in class! I am very excited to create this ancient Egyptian invention with my students. We will discuss the significance, and students will be able to have a better understanding for how this helped the people in ancient Egypt.

Later this week we will discuss the civilization of Kush and it’s rise and fall. 

Assignments Due

Egypt projects are due this week!

DUE November 6th for 2nd, 3rd & 4th period and November 7th for 7th and 8thperiod classes.

ALL IEP and ESOL accommodations will be provided daily.
