Storybook Parade
On Wednesday, October 31st we will be having a Storybook Parade here at Ivy Hawn! All third grade students may dress as any character or animal from the Magic Tree House series. The parade will start at 8:30. Doors open at 8:20. Kindergarten and 1st grade will walk the parade first and then 2nd and 3rd.
 
Science Learning Targets:  Students will be able to review the properties of each of the states of matter.
 
Science Learning Activities: Students will learn about matter and how states of matter can change. We will do a variety of activities to investigate the changes in states of matter.
 
Math Learning Targets:
Students will be able to determine time interval and work backwards to solve time problems. Students will be able to explain patterns in the multiplication table and use strategies to multiply and divide by 2, 5 and 10.
IXL: T1-3, T6, T7 (time)
M9, M12, F11, H1, N6, N7 (multiplication and division)
 
Math Learning Activities: Students will be working from My Math Chapter 11 and Chapter 6. Students will determine time intervals to solve problems and count back to tell elapsed time. As we begin a unit on multiplication and division, students will practice looking for patterns in the multiplication table and using strategies to find products.
ELA Activities: Students will participate in small groups during centers and also practicing on iReady and iStation.
ELA Learning Targets: LAFS.3.Rl.1.2 Determine the central message, lesson, or moral.
Comprehension: “Author, a true story” and “An Earful”
Writing Targets
W.3.8: Recall information from experiences or gather information from provided sources to answer a question.

Social Studies: SS.3. A.1.2 Students will be able to define terms related to social studies, including but not limited to, the following: history, geography, civics, government, and economics.
