On Wednesday, October 31st we will be having a Storybook Parade here at Ivy Hawn! All third grade students may dress as any character or animal from the Magic Tree House series. The parade will start at 8:30. More details to come!

Science Learning Targets:  Students will be able to measure and compare the mass and volume of solids and liquids.

Science Learning Activities: Students will measure mass, volume and temperature. We will discuss observable properties and measurable properties.

Math Learning Targets:

Students will be able to explore estimating and measuring volume and mass. Students will also begin telling time to the nearest minute.

IXL: BB6, BB14, BB15 (volume and mass)

T1-3, T6, T7 (time)

Math Learning Activities: Students will be working from My Math Chapter 11. We will work on measuring and estimating volume and solving word problems on volume. Next, we will measure and estimate mass and solve word problems related to mass. Towards the end of the week, we will begin practicing telling time to the nearest minute.

ELA Activities: Students will participate in small groups during centers and also practicing on iReady and Istation.

ELA Learning Targets: LAFS.3.Rl.1.2 Recount stories, including fables, folktales, and myths from diverse cultures.

Comprehension: “The Planets in our Solar System” and “An Earful”
