Week of January 29 – February 2, 2018

ELA Learning Targets:

Students will review author’s purpose, compare and contrast, as well as main idea to prepare for the district assessment the week of January 29th. Our comprehension story this week is “Cook-a-Doodle-Doo”!

ELA Activities:

Students will participate in small groups during centers and also practicing on IXL, I-Station, as well as reviewing concepts from the previous unit. IXL: R.1-R.2, X.1, X.2, U.1-U.5, V.1-V.5, Z.1, Y.3, T.1-T.5, W.3, W.4

Science Learning Targets: What is the structure of plants? What nutrients do plants need?

Science Learning Activities: Unit 6 Science Fusion. Students will describe the structure of plants and their roles in food production, support, water and nutrient transport, and reproduction.

Math Learning Targets:  Students will be able to estimate fractional parts, ordering fractions and comparing fractions and mixed numbers.

Math Learning Targets: Students will use practice creating models to compare fractions, find fractions that are equivalent, order fractions, estimate fractions, compare fractions and mixed numbers on a number line.

IXL: X.1, X.2, X.3, Y.1, Y.2

Social Studies: Students will continue learning about maps and geography. Students will learn about the natural landmarks in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
